Thermoplastics

Thermoplastic is a homogeneous material. The typical property of thermoplastic is thermoformability and weldability. Thermoplastic offers several advantages and is very widely suitable for various applications.

Benefits of thermoplastic

» Very good chemical resistance

» Long service life and good wear resistance

» Clean and smooth surface and easy to clean

» Dirt repellent

» Food grade

» Recyclable

» Versatility

Our range of materials
meets many needs

PEH plastic

polyethylene

  • Resistant to liquid acid, alkali and saline water solutions, as well as several organic solvents

  • Not suitable for concentrated oxidizing acids

  • Operating temperature -40°C … +60°C

PP plastic

polypropylene

  • Resistant to liquid acid, alkali and saline water solutions, as well as several organic solvents

  • “Universal plastic” widely used in industry

  • Not suitable for concentrated oxidizing acids

  • Operating temperature -20°C … +100°C

PVC plastic

polyvinyl chloride

  • Resistant to most acids, alkalis, saline water solutions and organic compounds mixed with water
  • Not resistant to aromatic or chlorinated hydrocarbons
  • Operating temperature 0°… +60°

PVDF plastic

polyvinyl difluoride

  • Resistant to acids, saline water solutions, aliphatic, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons
  • Can be used within certain limits for ketones, esters, ethers, organic alkalis and alkali lyes
  • Not resistant to fuming sulphuric acid, concentrated nitric acid, hot acetone, hot sodium bicarbonate lye
  • Operating temperature -20°… +140°

ECTFE plastic

ethylenchlortrifluorethylene

  • Widely suitable for various chemicals
  • Its special feature is its very low degree of leaching (gas permeation), which has made it a popular lining material

  • Operating temperature: -76 … +150° C

FEP plastic

perfluoroethylenepropylene

  • Resistant to nearly all known chemicals
  • Operating temperature: -190° … +210°

Applications

Thermoplastics are versatile to work with and are ideal for many different applications

  • Welding methods – sheet butt welding, pipe butt welding, coupling welding, wire welding, extruder welding
  • Machining methods – milling, sawing, thermoforming, turnery, water jet cutting
  • Applications, such as – tanks, containers and pipelines, coatings, containment basins, equipment structures, enclosures, cabinets, grates
